I have been holding my tongue about E72 for the past two weeks because of this pick. There have been several great threads about the topic lately, and I think this show is a true great sleeper. I think this show is remarkable and overlooked because of the available sources. I love the Vernon Aud and I think it is the best source you can get. I highly recommend it. Everyone really shines here, and Kieth has some unreal exchanges with Jerry during this show.

I think this show goes right in line with what Dick really would have picked eventually. Dick always seemed to love the jams packed with different moods and different places in the music. This one definitely fits the bill, well balanced and jammed with Pig in full effect. Every part of what makes a great E72 show is represented here nicely. Remarkable show. Give the Aud a listen. You won’t be sorry! Merry Christmas and Cheers…

Hey Skobud just wondering if you checked out the Kenny Dorham & Grant Green that I sent your way after you recommended Hank Mobleys Workout on the new music thread the other day?

Oh yes I did, and loved them both. My favs from Grant Green are probably Idle Moments, Matador and Street of Dreams which I really dig. Now, with Kenny Dorham all I have is Blue Spring, which is remarkable as well. I got turned on to Kenny because I am a huge Cannonball Adderly fan and they worked together on Blue Spring. Love the Hard Bop style. Peace

Grandstand is nice and chill like idle moments W\Yuseef Lateef on sax and Jack McDuff on organ. I have almost all the G.G. but am missing the Matador so I will have to check it out. I Want to Hold Your Hand is another one with Green & Mobley but I don't really listen to it much. Ike Quebec's Blue and Sentimental has Green with Philly Joe and Chambers and is one of my favorite late night albums. I went through a period where all I pretty much listened to was the Hard Bop/Soul Jazz thing especially Blue Notes. I only have a few Dorhams but they are all amazing. I am going to try and tackle the whole E72 tour this spring hopefully I can make the time. Cannonball is the man even like his later stuff. If you never checked out the website Dusty Groove give it a try..

Merry Christmas Tim, you were overdue for a DDP from Europe '72. Great selection and I love the fractal. Just one thing though. Who Do You Love was not performed on 4/29/72...

I think Deadbase erroneously had it on the setlist at one time and both the sirmick sbd and Matt Vernon's aud have it listed as well. Still a great Caution!
